For Your Journey

The Study tab now knows who you are, not just what you drilled. A new weekly card surfaces a lifestyle or mindset video personalized to your age, belt, and how consistently you've been showing up — the part of BJJ that keeps you on the mat long-term.

Personalized Journey Picks

Once a week, TOMO surfaces one lifestyle or mindset video selected specifically for where you are in your BJJ life right now — not just what position you trained last Tuesday.

  • Late starters (white belt, 40+) get content about training through injury and recovery
  • Declining frequency or missed sessions trigger content about why people quit and why they don't
  • Competitors get competition psychology and mindset content
  • Everyone gets something different based on their actual situation
Design

Purple "For Your Journey" Card

Journey picks have a distinct purple visual treatment so you always know the difference between technique picks (gold) and mindset/lifestyle content (purple). The reason block reads "Why now" instead of "Why this pick."

Intelligence

Persona Signals, No Extra Questions

TOMO derives everything it needs from data you already gave it — your birthday, belt, how often you've been training, and whether your frequency has been trending down. No new fields. No new onboarding. It just gets smarter about who you are over time.

UX

Graceful When Empty

If you've watched every lifestyle video available (we have 3 right now, more coming), the section disappears cleanly. Cold-start users and users in their first few sessions don't see it yet — only activated when you have a real training history to personalize against.

Why this matters: Technique videos make you better at the move. Mindset videos keep you in the sport. The biggest drop-off in BJJ isn't people who can't learn the technique — it's people who stop coming. This section exists to be the training partner who checks in on the whole picture, not just what you drilled.
