Features and improvements shipping to TOMO
Gym wifi is bad and the parking lot is worse. TOMO now keeps your session on your phone when there is no connection and syncs it the moment you get one. The Study tab also stopped taking credit for videos you never watched.
You can now save a session anywhere. If your phone cannot reach the internet, TOMO keeps the whole thing on your device and uploads it as soon as you have a bar. You will see "Saved on your phone" instead of an error and a lost session.
A handful of sessions never got their transcript because the transcription service had a bad moment. The recording was always fine. Open one of those sessions and there is now a button under the audio to try again.
The Study tab used to count a video as watched the second you tapped it. Open a 47 minute Danaher breakdown, back out after three seconds, and it told you that you had studied 47 minutes. It now counts real watch time, and a long video picks up where you left it.
Skipping a video now asks why in one tap, and swaps in something that fits. Say it is too advanced and you get the same position taken slower. Say it is not your game and you get a different position. Say not this week and the video comes back another week instead of disappearing.
The bookmark on library videos works now. Anything you save collects in one place on the Study tab, so the video you meant to come back to is one tap away instead of lost in 600.
Videos on coming back from injury, competition nerves, blue belt blues, and training past 40 used to be reachable only if the app handed you one that week. They now have their own section in the library and turn up in search.
The library count now shows how many videos exist at your belt rather than the whole catalog, so it matches what you can actually open. And when you have run out of videos that fit what you asked for, TOMO says so and tells you to go train rather than padding the list.
If your phone stopped recording partway through, a call came in or the app was closed, TOMO now catches it before uploading and tells you plainly that the recording did not capture. Previously it went through the whole pipeline and came back as a vague processing error.
If a session has not finished uploading, signing out now tells you before it lets go of it. Sessions saved offline are kept and come back when you sign in again.
If you left the app open from Sunday into Monday, your weekly insight and your session count could still be showing last week. They now update when the week actually turns.
Why this matters: The entire point of TOMO is catching the session while it is fresh, which is exactly when you are standing in a gym parking lot with one bar and no patience. Losing that to a connection error was the worst thing this app could do to you. Now the only thing between you and a logged session is whether you open it.
