Your Weekly Debrief Got Smarter

Ten upgrades to how TOMO reads your training week. Your debrief now leads with the most surprising observation, not a summary. It tracks whether you followed up on last week's focus. And if you haven't trained in a while, it knows how to welcome you back without making it weird.

  • Plateau detection that reframes flat spots as hidden progress
  • "One Year Ago on the Mat" comparisons for long-term perspective
  • Rotating analysis lens so your debrief never feels repetitive
  • Mood tracking after every session (5 gold dots, one tap)
  • Returning-user detection for training gaps of 2+ weeks
  • Follow-through tracking on last week's recommendations

Talk to Your Insights

You can now ask follow-up questions about your weekly debrief. Type your own question and get a real answer. Up to 4 exchanges per insight, with your conversation saved for later. Your AI coach knows when to point you back to the mats.

Tap a Technique, See the Evidence

Techniques mentioned in your insight are now tappable gold links. Tap one and see exactly which sessions it came from, with dates, duration, and what else you drilled. Your insight is no longer a black box.

Intelligence

Post-Save Curiosity Teasers

After you save a session, TOMO drops a one-line preview of what your next debrief might notice. It builds anticipation instead of just dumping you back to the journal.

UX

Watch Videos Without Leaving TOMO

Videos now play inside the app. No more getting pulled into YouTube's recommendation algorithm. TOMO tracks what you watch, and your weekly picks know when you've finished a video.

  • Auto-pause when you switch tabs or leave the app
  • Feedback flow after watching weekly picks (helpful / not for me)
  • Replay button when a video ends
UX

173 Instructional Videos

The video library more than tripled, from 50 to 173 verified videos from 19 top instructors including Danaher, Gordon Ryan, Lachlan Giles, and Craig Jones. Coverage targets met for 11 of 13 positions.

UX

Search Your Video Library

Search by technique, instructor, position, or concept. Multi-word search works naturally ("danaher guard passing"). Results update as you type.

Smarter Session Editing

Technique autocomplete now suggests from your history and the full 417-technique library. Submissions suggest based on the positions you drilled. Empty sections collapse into clean "Add" links instead of cluttering the screen. Save confirmations tell you exactly what changed.

UX

Submission Quantity Editing

You can now adjust submission counts with +/- steppers when editing a saved session. Green for ones you landed, red for ones you got caught in.

Voice Recognition

TOMO Speaks Your Language

Voice recognition now knows 986 BJJ terms, up from 180. Autocomplete has 987 suggestions. Mount escapes, judo throws, modern leg lock vocabulary, wrestling takedowns, flying submissions. If you say it on the mat, TOMO can hear it.

48 Touch and Visual Fixes

Every screen in the app was audited. Buttons that were too small to hit post-training are properly sized. All text meets the readability floor on dark backgrounds. Accessibility labels added throughout for VoiceOver users.

Fix

Session Dates Are Accurate

Logging a session at 11 PM no longer records it under tomorrow's date. Your session shows under the correct day, every time.

Fix

Insight Conversations Persist

Follow-up questions on your weekly insight now save properly between app sessions. The 4-exchange limit works correctly.

Fix

Insights Error Recovery

If your weekly insight fails to load, you now see a clear error message with pull-to-refresh. No more blank dead ends.

Intelligence

Faster Everything

Every screen loads faster. TOMO now reads your session from local storage instead of checking the server on every tap. Autocomplete deduplicates on the server instead of your phone. Five new database indexes speed up the queries you use most.

Why this matters: TOMO is built around two moments. The 90-second window after training when you're exhausted and need to capture what happened. And the quiet moment later when you want to understand what it all means. This week's updates make both moments better. Logging is faster and more forgiving. Your debrief is smarter and more personal. And the new video library gives you something concrete to study between sessions.

Also in the latest build: the Study tab search bar now suggests technique names, positions, and instructors as you type. Removed a distracting hairline accent from video library cards.
